I capture elopements in Colorado and Utah!
Colorado offers such an unforgettable experience to elopement! We have 15 majestic mountain ranges, 4 national parks, 8 National Monuments, and 3 National Heritage sites, the opportunities are seriously limitless! You could choose to say your vows on a mountain top or go hiking all day to reach an alpine lake where privacy is cherished, and the world feels all yours. There are endless trail options with vibrant meadows with gorgeous wildflowers, you could even travel to the great sand dunes in Durango, Colorado!
The best part about eloping in Colorado is the fact that you do not need an officiant! You can legally self-solemnize your own wedding, which makes eloping that much easier and more cost friendly.
Remember that this is YOUR big day and you can customize your elopement however you'd like! I have had many couples bring their dogs to join their big day, have adorable picnics during their elopement, pop bottles of Champaine, the ideas and ways to customize your big day are endless!
Utah Elopements is the perfect way to get married in a beautiful and unique landscape. With its breathtaking landscapes, world-class resorts, and vast array of outdoor activities, The Beehive State has become an increasingly popular destination for couples looking to tie the knot.
Proximity to National Parks:
Utah is home to several of the country's most famous national parks, making it an ideal destination for couples who want to tie the knot surrounded by the natural wonders of places.
You do need an officiant when eloping in Utah, however you can have a friend or family get legally ordained (it's actually a fairly easy process)!
You will need to do the following to apply for a marriage license
+An in-person application with both applicants present at the time of application.
+Full names, addresses and dates and places of birth of both applicants.
+Social security numbers of both applicants, unless an applicant doesn't have a social security number.
+Names and birth places of the parents of both applicants , including mother's maiden name.
+Valid picture ID such as a passport, birth certificate, driver license, or state ID card.

Favorite Colorado Spots to Elope
Telluride: Bridal Veil Falls
This location is breathtaking, remote, and has beautiful, rugged mountain ridges! Bridal Veil Falls is the tallest waterfall and surely makes the best spot to tie the knot!
Best Season: Year Round - however summer or fall is best if you're wanting to highlight that gorgeous waterfall! I highly suggest a sunrise elopement to avoid large crowds!
Grandby: Indian Peaks
This location is seriously one of my favorite places in Colorado and makes the BEST backdrop for an elopement. I highly suggest this spot during the end of winter (so you can still get some beautiful snowcaps) but it is honestly always such a moody and godly spot! This location has secluded alpine lakes and rugged mountain peaks. Sunset is my favorite time to shoot at this spot.
Maroon Bells Amphitheater
If you love aspens then this is the spot for you to elope! Maroon Bells is lined with aspen trees, dreamy lakes, and breathtaking views! This location is best during the summer months and fall! There is a $200 application fee to elope here, but it is worth it! (apply for the application at recreation.gov)
Great Sand Dunes
This location is SUCH a fun one! It is perfect for you if you love the earthy/boho vibes! I recommend shooting at this location either at sunrise or or right before sundown, the stars there are so surreal because there is very little light pollution and will surely be the highlight of your elopement adventure!
Favorite Spots to Elope in Utah
Little Cottonwood Canyon
If you love wildflowers, you will LOVE this spot! Little Cottonwood Canyon is located 30 minutes from Salt Lake City. I highly suggest this spot during the summer months to truly capture its beauty. It is an easy hike with blooms and stunning surrounding mountains.
Canyonlands National Park
The views here are unreal and makes for the perfect backdrop for your Utah Elopement! It is located 30 minutes from Moab. The dramatic landscape was carved by the Colorado River and has so many incredible overlooks. This park does require a permit to have an elopement ceremony, it is $185 and there is a $30 car entrance fee, but man is it worth it!
Monument Valley
Monument Valley straddles the border of Utah and Arizona. It's sandstone buttes are unique and tower high over the red rock deserts. You do not need a permit to elope here if you have less than four people (your photographer and officiant included). If your vibe is more western, this is your spot to elope!
Arches National Park
The Arches National Park is a wonderland in itself. This park has overlooks and redocks and of course giant arches! There is a $100 permit to elope at this park but in my opinion, it is very well worth it! I highly suggest this spot in the late summer months or even fall months.
